The Parkview Elementary School will be receiving repairs and upgrades to address energy efficiency, building code and ADA compliance, classroom technology, safety and repairs to damaged building components. Energy efficiency upgrades will include lighting, and upgraded HVAC and electrical systems. Code upgrades include installation of a fire sprinkler system, upgrades to the fire alarm system, and ADA compliant access to the second floor. The “open concept” classroom space will be separated into individual classrooms allowing for full multi-media capabilities to be incorporated into each classroom. Various repairs and upgrades including repairs to damage caused by structural movement, roof repairs, and repairs to the interior finishes damaged by roof leaks will be performed. Safety concerns resulting from the existing vehicle circulation patterns will also be addressed by designing a new bus loop, student drop off area, and additional parking.
